not your ordinary race

a life-cycle to success!

mentoring, caring & sharing

For the past 7 years, students from all over Nashville join in with friends and family for our Steps of Success 5K community wide event.  Completing a 5K gives many a sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving goals in life.

But, we don't stop there!  We use our "feet" to help fund college scholarships and mentoring programs that assist youth in their personal, educational and professional development.  We develop leaders who will make meaningful contributions to their community and society.

We teach life skills through fun, engaging workshops and small group sessions.  Our curriculum is facilitated by professionals, teachers, athletes, alumni and motivational speakers and include topics such as:

  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Personal Responsibility & Self Awareness
  • Decision Making
  • The Power of Networking
  • Presentation Skills
  • Financial Literacy
  • Creating Your Personal Brand
  • Beware: The Dangers of Social Media
  • And many more...

Bridging the Gap through effective mentoring, caring and sharing!

Mentor program impact:

I now have a sense of work ethic and how to network and converse with people in a more professional manner.  I attribute that to my involvement in the 50/50 Protégé Mentoring Program I attended while at Fisk University.  I want to return the favor with our youth because of the impact this program has made on me.

To see the faces when I help tutor or mentor is an amazing feeling of accomplishment.  I had mentors who gave back to me when I was growing up who showed me the right path and I now have a platform to pay it forward to the next generation.
